Trojans blank Olympians

GREENWOOD — Columbus East opened the baseball season Wednesday with a 10-0, five-inning loss at Class 4A No. 3 Center Grove.

The Trojans scored six times in the first inning off Olympians starter Parker Harris and added two runs in the fourth and two in the fifth.

Center Grove outhit East 10-1. Evan Balzer had the hit for the Olympians.

Hornets top Panthers

BEECH GROVE — Jennings County was held to two hits in a 12-2, five-inning loss at Beech Grove.

Jillian Brauer went 2 for 2 with two doubles to record both hits for the Panthers (1-1).

Eagles fall to Warriors

SCOTTSBURG — Brown County rallied from a 9-0 deficit after one inning to within 10-7, but Scottsburg pulled away for a 17-7 victory.

Savannah Oden went 3 for 4 with a double for the Eagles. Ava Sanders and Ava Stogsdill each went 2 for 4 with two RBIs.
