No injuries reported after car drives into restaurant

Columbus police and firefighters were sent to the Central Cafe, 1606 Central Ave., at 10:55 a.m. Monday after an SUV drove into the front doors of the restaurant.

The driver, Carolyn J. Jenkins, 85, Columbus, was attempting to park a 2015 Ford when the vehicle went through the front glass doors of the restaurant, police said.

Jenkins reported that she attempted to use the vehicle’s brakes but they did not work, police said.

Firefighters checked the building for structural integrity and removed one of the doors at the accident scene.

No injuries were reported.
