HOPE

E. Michael Henderson, 74, of Hope passed away on Tuesday, March 28, 2023 at Morning Breeze Healthcare Center in Greensburg.

Born on October 1, 1948, Michael was the son of Earl Raymond and Clara June Childers Henderson. He married Joyce Allyn Webb on January 20, 1968. He graduated from Southwestern High School in 1966. Michael went on to serve in the United States Air Force from 1967 to 1970.

Michael had been employed at Cummins in the IT Department and retired after 44 years. He was a member of the American Legion.

Michael loved watching all of the sports his kids were involved in, and especially watching all of his four grandsons in sports. After retirement, he was excited to be on the road with his wife with their 5th wheel spending three months with their daughter, Mika and her family in Vegas and three months with their son, Scott and his family in Florida. Michael enjoyed playing golf, fishing, woodworking, and woodburning. In his younger years, he enjoyed creating artwork.

Survivors include his wife, Joyce of Hope; children, Mika (Kurtis) Greenwald of Satellite Beach, FL and Scott (Audrey) Henderson of Winter Garden, FL; sister, Vicki (Kevin) Pitts of Flat Rock; grandsons, Gunnar and Grady Greenwald of Satellite Beach, FL and Zach and Chase Henderson of Winter Garden, FL; sisters-in-law, Carolyn (Steve) Hofeditz of Panama City, FL and Sharon Webb of Hope; godchildren, Brandon Hedrick of Hawaii and Caroline Hedrick of Cleveland, TN; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and June Henderson; brother, Phil Henderson; and son, Mark Henderson.

A funeral will be held on Monday, April 3 at 10:30 a.m. at Norman Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Newlin officiating. Visitation will be Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Hope Moravian Cemetery with military graveside rites being conducted by the Bartholomew County Veterans Honor Guard.
