VOICES OF SPRING, 7 p.m., April 21, First United Methodist Church, 618 Eighth St., Columbus. The Columbus Indiana Children’s Choir (CICC) will welcome spring with the Voices of Spring concert. Singers as young as first grade will present a full concert for the community. All are welcome, and tickets are not required for entry, but donations will be accepted during the free-will offering.
AMERICAN PIE, A MAGICAL HISTORY TOUR, 6:30 to 9 p.m., April 27, Columbus North High School, 1400 25th St., Columbus. “I Love American Pie” is the theme for this year’s musical history concert. This magical evening combines commentary about important historical events with dynamic performances by our cast showcasing the songs that marked each of those events. Irwin Miller Architecture Program presents an exhibition of work investigating a compatible abstract language by Eskenazi School faculty members Martha MacLeish and Malcolm Mobutu Smith. The exhibition will showcase dimensional drawings and paintings, ceramics, and other sculptural objects. The artists will give a gallery talk on Thursday, April 20.

The Heartland Division of Kiwanis is sponsoring its second annual 5K Run/Walk to benefit Riley Hospital for Children. The race will begin at 8:30 a.m. at Ivy Tech Community College. Goodie bags, random drawings for more than 40 great prizes, along with food and drink will be available for all participants. Riley Hospital will be on campus to distribute information about Riley and a photo-op with the Riley Bear will be available all morning. For preregistration, go to indianatiming.com. BLACKWELL PARK STORYWALK, Blackwell Park, 1550 Whitney Court, Columbus. Enjoy some fresh air while strolling the Bartholomew County Public Library’s StoryWalk. Together with the Columbus Parks and Recreation Department, the library is excited to feature “Bark, George!” by Jules Feiffer in April and “The Not-So Great Outdoors” by Madeline Kloepper in May. The StoryWalk is located along the People Trail near the Pollinator Park in Blackwell Park.

The Columbus Bike Co-op has announced that it is bringing back its annual open house to share all the programs and assistance it has to offer. This year’s open house will feature snacks, drinks, tours of the shop and the ability to meet the staff and members of the board. The museum is open Tuesday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. BCHS hosts two permanent exhibits that share the history and heritage of Bartholomew County. Learn about our county through interactive, hands-on exhibits that include a map table, notable people, county timeline, Then and Now, Did You Know, early industrialists and videos of Reeves steam engines. The historical society also hosts rotating exhibits throughout the year featuring items from their extensive collection. Admission is free, with a donation suggested.
