Karen McCaa beloved daughter, sister, aunt, coach, and friend to all passed from this life at 7:22pm Saturday, May 13, 2023 at Columbus Regional Hospital.

Karen was born November 27th, 1970, in Columbus, the daughter of James W. “Bill” and Kathryn L. “Kathy” Schuldt McCaa. She graduated from St. Peter’s Lutheran School, and Columbus North High School taking with her many lifelong friendships.

Karen then attended Eastern Illinois University on a full basketball scholarship majoring in English and counseling. Graduating from Eastern Illinois she then attended University of Tennessee receiving her Master’s degree in Counseling.

After graduating with her master’s degree she was a counselor at Milan High School, Hauser High School, and Bloomington South High School.

She then relocated to low to work at Kirkwood Community College and also took her passion one step forward and became a Christian Motivational Speaker. Throughout this journey she has touched so many lives. Her ultimate dream was to share Gods amazing truth and love with all! Karen had a passion for lifting others as well as a deep love for nature, animals and the beauty of a sunrise. Her legacy will live on through the lives she has touched. Her presence was unforgettable and so is she.

Her survivors include her mother, Kathy McCaa, sister Amy, brother- in-law, David and her beloved niece Abby.

She was preceded in death by her father, Bill McCaa on February 6th 2022.

The funeral will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church with the Revs. Mark Teike and Tim Carter officiating.

A time of visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday at Barkes, Weaver &Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street and 9:00 a.m. to time of service at the church.

She will be laid to rest next to her father at St. Peter Lutheran Church Cemetery in Waymansville.
