Wager named OVC Freshman of Year
Tennessee-Martin’s Zach Wager has been selected as the Ohio Valley Conference Freshman of the Year.
Wager, a Columbus North graduate, is the first UT-Martin player to win the award. He also was named to the All-OVC second team.
Wager went 2-1 with a 2.30 ERA in 21 appearances, with five starts. He had 39 strikeouts in 43 innings pitched and ranked fifth in the OVC with four saves.
Pettit records ace at Par 3 course
Caleb Pettit notched a hole-in-one on No. 10 at Par-3 Golf Course on Monday.
Pettit, a former Columbus East football and track athlete, was playing with fellow East graduate Wyatt Koopman.
