Letter: Rising property taxes cause hardship for local residents

From: Wayne Brooks

Columbus

Property taxes the last three years are through the roof, groceries and medicine has skyrocketed, not to mention fuel for vehicles has increased a lot.

And to find out the county is sitting on a $21 million county surplus is ridiculous. I own my house and I live on a fixed income. Even without a house payment, it is getting where I can’t afford to live in Columbus.

When are the property taxes going to stop going up?
