COLUMBUS
Eddie Michael Stark, 76, of Columbus passed from this life Thursday, June 8, 2023, at 8:28 p.m. at his residence.
Eddie was born on March 27, 1947, in Madison, the son of Lawrence “Eddie” Edison and Patty Jo Norris Stark, of Scipio. On October 8, 1977, he married Gwen E. Barkes.
Mr. Stark proudly served in the United State Army and went on to work in various different fields and lastly retired from Cosco Inc.
He had a tremendous love for his cats and enjoyed watching cartoons and being at home sitting in his rocking chair.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Gwen E. Stark of Columbus; daughters, Kelly Jo (Russell Harting) Stark of Bedford and Tara Shawn Stark of Columbus; grandchildren, Joe McFarland, John (Josie) McFarland, Mikael Wilson, Travis Wyatt; brothers, Steve Stark and Larry Stark; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and mother-in-law and father-in-law, Nan and Duane Barkes.
The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday at Barkes, Weaver &Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Reverend Larry Fields officiating.
Family and friends may gather for visitation from 12:00 p.m. till time of service at the funeral home.
Burial will follow at Garland Brook Cemetery.
Military honors will be presented by the Bartholomew County Veterans Honor Guard.
In memory of Mr. Stark memorial contributions may be given to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana.
