SHELBYVILLE, Ind. — A Shelby County jail inmate became unresponsive in the book-in area of the jail at 7:12 a.m. Monday, and later died at a hospital
The inmate was identified as Denim Fassold, 33, Shelbyville, according to the Shelby County Sheriff Department.
Jail staff began lifesaving procedures during the incident and medics from the Shelbyville Fire Department responded, transporting Fassold to Major Hospital in Shelbyville. He was later transferred to St. Francis Hospital where he died Monday night, according to investigators.
