COLUMBUS
Arthur Pendleton, 92, of Columbus, passed away at 9:47 p.m. Thursday, August 3, 2023 at Columbus Regional Health.
Arthur was born April 14, 1931, in Whitesburg, Kentucky, the son of Charlie and Sarah Banks Pendleton. On June 28, 1960, he married Wilma Jean Boggs.
Mr. Pendleton worked 40 years at the former Cosco, now Dorel Juvenile Group. He was an early riser every day (Arthur loved his biscuits and gravy) and an extremely hard worker. Gardening and taking time to be with his grandchildren was the way Arthur preferred to spend his free time.
Survivors include his sons, Charles (Cheryl) Pendleton of North Vernon, Ralph (Debbie) Pendleton of Columbus; seven grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; sisters, Ethel Fields, Daisy Boggs, both of Kentucky; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Wilma and six brothers.
The funeral service will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Pastor Arthur Amburgey officiating. Visitation will be Monday from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
Burial will be at Valley Home Old Regular Baptist Church Cemetery in Freetown, Indiana.
