IU-Columbus kicked off its inaugural women’s soccer season Friday with a 2-1 loss to IU-South Bend at Wigh Soccer Complex.
Following a scoreless first half, IU-South Bend’s Katie Jones scored in the 46th and 71st minutes to give the Titans a 2-0 lead. The Crimson Pride got on the board in the 83rd minute with a goal from Taelyn Henderson, a junior transfer from Holy Cross College in South Bend.
IU-South Bend outshot IU-Columbus 24-10, putting 14 shots on goal to seven for the Crimson Pride. Ana Jackson recorded 12 saves for IU-Columbus.
The Crimson Pride return to action Wednesday at home against IU-Northwest at Wigh Soccer Complex. Admission is free for all men’s and women’s soccer games this season.
