Thanks to donations from private individuals and a check of more than $9,000 from the Custer Foundation, Columbus North senior Dylan Prather reached his goal of paying for the purchase and training of a new police dog for Columbus Police Department several months ahead of schedule.


Columbus City Council unanimously approved the use of $275,000 from the city’s general fund to cover the cost of 12 emergency alert sirens for the city.


Some residents of the Grandview Lake neighborhood set what was thought to be a world record, towing 13 skiers behind one boat.
