The OfficeMax store at 3200 Columbus Center off National Road is scheduled to close later this month, store employees confirmed.
The office supply retailer is liquidating inventory at the local store with a last day of business scheduled for Oct. 21, employees said.
Office Depot/OfficeMax announced plans in 2020 to close stores and reduce its workforce by about 13,100 jobs by the end of this year, according to the Reuters news agency.
As of Wednesday, the Columbus store’s location no longer appeared on the Office Depot website.
Office Depot stock trades on the NASDAQ exchange and was trading in the range of $45 per share Wednesday afternoon. It has trade in the past year in the range of $36.50 to $53 per share.
After the Columbus store closes, the company will have just three locations in Indiana, all in the Indianapolis area, with the closest location in Greenwood.
