The Hayden Historical Museum will celebrate the spirit of Christmases past and host the traditional music of the Woodshop Boys at a Christmas Open House beginning at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 3.
Event planners say visitors to the museum will be able to experience home entertainment from the days before electricity as Mike Waskom plays Christmas music on antique musical instruments, and John Ziegler will also play Christmas music on one of the pump organs in the museum’s A Place Called Yesterday exhibit.
The museum also will invite visitors to the 1965 Living Room in the museum’s exhibit area. An aluminum Christmas tree will accompany Christmas cartoons playing on the black-and-white television set.
The museum also will host a Christmas goodies baking contest with categories for cookies and other holiday treats that will be available for those making a donation to the museum.
Also during the event will be the rededication of a Hayden road sign. The 1947 Sinclair gas station also will be decorated for the season and open for visitors.
The museum is located at 6715 W. County Road 20S, North Vernon. For more information, call 812-592-8445 or email [email protected].
