Republic seeks ‘Woman of the Year’ nominations

Janice Montgomery thanks her family, friends and supporters in a speech after receiving The Republic’s 2023 Woman of the Year award last June. Nominations are being accepted for the 2024 honor.

The Republic is accepting nominations for its annual Woman of the Year, a prestigious honor that recognizes one woman from Bartholomew County for her contributions toward creating a vital community. Honorees are selected on their contributions to creating a high quality of life here with an emphasis on long-term activity, hands-on work and diverse involvement.

The Republic will also accept nominations to honor Women to Watch. Profiles of these individuals, along with the Woman of the Year, will be featured in a Women to Watch Magazine to be published at the time of the Women of the Year presentation.

The Republic has selected a Woman of the Year each year. Each honoree receives a custom-made necklace and $2,000 to be awarded to the recipient’s charity of choice. Nominations are restricted to residents of Bartholomew County.

To nominate an individual for Woman of the Year, pick up a nomination form at the front desk of The Republic, 2980 N. National Road, Columbus, during business hours between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. or visit the therepublic.com and click on “Contact us,” and then “submissions”, which takes you to the Woman of the Year nomination. Nomination deadline is March 1.

Each year the nomination process begins anew, so nominations from previous years will not be considered.

The Woman of the Year and Women to Watch honorees will be celebrated at ceremonies next June at The Commons.
