NORTH VERNON
Mollie Flo Corbin, 86, of North Vernon, passed away on January 17, 2024.
Born in Lovett Township on November 16, 1937, to Eva Abbott Carson Kaufman and Emery Fish Carson.
Mollie graduated salutatorian from Paris Crossing high school in 1956. On June 24, 1956, Mollie married the love of her life and high school sweetheart, Kenneth Lewis Corbin, who precedes her in death.
Along with her husband, they built a life of service, love, devotion, and sacrifice to Jesus. Together they founded the Mission of MCR, Inc., Burnt Pines Church of Christ, J.C. Horse and Pony 4-H Club and was involved in the founding of Burnt Pines Water Corporation.
Mollie worked at the Scenic View Restaurant in high school and Cummins Engine Company for 10 years. Following her time at Cummins, she became a homemaker and full-time missionary. She volunteered at the Red Cross Blood Mobile for over 10 years. She loved to teach Sunday School and looked forward to Vacation Bible School all year long. At the age of 80, she was active in helping the youth of New Prospect Baptist Church.
She is survived by her children, Eve Davis and Dan (Denise) Corbin, both of North Vernon, Mark (Kim) Corbin of Elizabethtown, and Millie (Clifton) Beverly of Columbus; grandchildren, Dawn (Brian) Johnson of Bedford, Kristy (Luke) Collins and Danny (Amy) Corbin, both of Indianapolis, Kenda (Derrick) Maschino and Dena (Brad) Monday, both of North Vernon, Maggie (Carson) Fleetwood, Elise Beverly, and Corbin Beverly, all of Columbus, Hannah Corbin of Phoenix, AZ, and Cameron (Makayla) Corbin of Cincinnati, OH; great-grandchildren, JT, Taylor, and Rachel Monday and David, Lydia, and Josie Maschino, all of North Vernon, Audrey, Jackson, and Eleanor Corbin and Evee Collins, all of Indianapolis, Scott and Kate Johnson of Bedford, and Henry and William Fleetwood of Columbus; sister, Beth (Roger) Scroggins; niece, Michele (Mike) Followell; nephew, Rick (Alma) Scroggins; great nephews and great-great nieces, Seth (Shana) Richardson, Claire Richardson, Madison Richardson, Aaron (Aeriel) Richardson, Evan Richardson, and Jose Scroggins; and too many foster children to count. She loved them all fiercely.
She was preceded by her husband; parents; brother, David “Davey” Abbott Carson; and son-in-law, David Davis.
A funeral service for Mollie will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 22, 2024, at Graham Presbyterian Church with her son, Dan Corbin, officiating. Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 21, 2024, at Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services in North Vernon and at the church one hour prior to the service on Monday.
Memorial donations may be made in honor of Mollie through the funeral home to Muscatatuck Christian Ranch, Inc.
