Hand-sewn stuffed toys called Pal Dolls were made by Happy Helping Hands volunteers and donated to children at Columbus Regional Hospital and Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis. The dolls were treated alongside the children, receiving Band-Aids and casts.
1999
The County Club, a local women’s club formed on Jan 26, 1909, met to celebrate its 90th anniversary. The Country Club was named for the Bartholomew County countryside where it was formed.
1974
Local singers and pianist James Hartley performed for more than 700 people in a concert titled “Rachmaninoff” at Columbus East High School. The concert grand piano used during the performance was donated by the Psi Lata Xi social sorority.
