SEYMOUR
Willis Wehmiller, 92, of Seymour passed away on January 27, 2024, at Lutheran Community Home. Willis was born on August 4, 1931, in Dudleytown to Herman and Wilma (Goecker) Wehmiller. He was a member of the Indiana National Guard established in Seymour, and he served with the 138th Tank Battalion. Willis worked for Seifker Machine Shop, C.J. Rust Construction before starting his own company, Willis Wehmiller Bulldozing &Backhoe Service. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, the American Legion, and was an honorary life-long member of the Fraternal Order of Police. In his free time, Willis loved to play cards, especially Euchre and Rook.
Willis is survived by his sons: Michael (Cindy) Wehmiller and Bradley (Natalie) Wehmiller; grandchildren: Ashley (Zach) Roach, Kara (Cole) Vieck, and Brandon Wehmiller; great grandchildren: Blane and Rhett Roach and Grady Vieck. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Rosanna, daughter, Dianna Thornbury, granddaughter, Andrea Thornbury; brothers: Marlin, Leon and Daryl Wehmiller, sister, Mary Lou Cremeens.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM on Friday, February 2, 2024, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 605 S. Walnut St., Seymour with Rev. Dr. Ralph Blomenberg, Rev. Philip Bloch and Rev. James Rodriguez, Jr. officiating. Burial will take place at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery. The family will receive friends for visitation from 10:00 am until the time of the service Friday at the church. Memorial contributions may be directed to Immanuel Lutheran Church.
