2014

Columbus East High School seniors Bryce Lienhoop, Payton Gray, Jordan Foster and Josh Smith combined to score 19 points and rip down 14 rebounds to help lead the Olympians to a 60-33 victory against Scottsburg. The opening quarter was extra special for Lienhoop, who scored his 1,000th career point and became the Olympians’ all-time leading rebounder.

1999

The annual Jay C Foods Cooking and Lifestyle Show was held at the Holiday Inn, which drew in more than 900 people. Along with cooking demonstrations, 50 door prizes were handed out.

1974

An “Around the World Birthday Party” was celebrated by the Ladies Fellowship of First Church of the Nazarene in the church annex. Those who attended enjoyed an “airplane ride” where they moved around the room, making “stops” to taste foods from around the world. Some of the dishes included Chinese fried rice, Russian tea and Italian spumoni.
