Tomorrow is the day when financial aid experts will help Hoosier students and families file the most important form for free money for college and financial aid, the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Help will be available at 40 sites across the state during the annual College Goal Sunday.
In our area, College Goal Sunday will take place from 2-4 p.m. Sunday at the following locations:
- Columbus: IUPUC, 4601 Central Ave.
- Franklin: Ivy Tech Community College, 2205 McClain Drive.
- North Vernon: Jennings County High School, 800 W. Walnut St., Building B.
The FAFSA form is required for students to be considered for federal and state grants, scholarships, and federal student loans at most colleges, universities, and vocational/technical schools nationwide. The FAFSA must be filed by the State of Indiana priority deadline of April 15 to guarantee state aid for those who qualify.
Now in its 35th year, College Goal Sunday began in Indiana and has spread across the country. The events have helped tens of thousands of Hoosier families file the FAFSA, a required step for students to secure funding for higher education.
College Goal Sunday has helped more than 98,000 Indiana students and families complete the FAFSA properly and on time. College Goal Sunday is a charitable program of the Indiana Student Financial Aid Association (ISFAA).
