Indiana University Columbus professor Kevin McCracken has been appointed to the Governor’s Council for People with Disabilities by Gov. Eric Holcomb.
“I appreciate the opportunity to have a greater impact on improving the quality of life for those with disabilities,” said McCracken, who has more than 25 years of experience working in mental health and serving those with disabilities.
McCracken spent 16 years in community mental health services before joining IU full time in 2011. In his previous role at IU, McCracken served as the director of IUPUI’s Adaptive Educational Services, the student disability services office for IU students on the Indianapolis, Columbus, and Ft. Wayne campuses, as well as the IU School of Medicine students at nine statewide locations.
In fall 2023, he joined IU Columbus as clinical assistant professor of psychology and mental health counseling, as well as director of clinical training for the mental health counseling graduate program.
