Barbara Anne Kessler

MUNFORDVILLE, KY

Barbara Anne Kessler, age 91, a beloved resident of Munfordville, KY, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 9, 2024, at Belmont Health and Rehab. Barbara was a cherished member of the Munfordville First United Methodist Church, where her faith in Christ shone brightly throughout her life.

Born to the late Sam and Flora Holt Doyel, Barbara grew up surrounded by love and family in Kentucky. She was preceded in death by her three brothers, George, Jack, and Brice Doyel, as well as her three sisters, Eloise Carden, Jean Line, and Patsy Ewald.

Barbara is survived by her devoted husband of 72 years, Dale Kessler, who stood by her side through every joy and challenge of their lives together. She leaves behind a legacy of love in her children: daughter Patricia England of Munfordville, KY; sons Craig Kessler and his wife Tina of Columbus, IN, and Keith Kessler and his wife Maritza of Tampa, FL. Barbara was a pillar of strength and love for her family, and her presence will be deeply missed.

In addition to her children, Barbara is survived by eight grandchildren: Christopher Kessler (Rebecca), Hannah Davis (Chris), Adam Kessler, Davis Kessler, Alex Kessler, Julia Kessler, Kirsten Pitzer, and Jimmie Pitzer (Sarah). She also leaves behind four great-grandchildren: Wilson Kessler, Olivia Davis, Abigail, and Gabriel Pitzer.

Barbara’s life journey took her to Columbus for 32 years, where she made lasting memories and friendships. After Craig’s graduation from Butler University in 1992, Barbara and Dale returned to Munfordville, embracing the warmth and community of their hometown once again. Barbara dedicated herself to her family, serving as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her love knew no bounds, and she delighted in spending time with her loved ones, whether traveling to visit them or supporting them in their endeavors.

A woman of faith, Barbara found solace and strength in her relationship with Christ. She cherished her daily devotionals, finding comfort and guidance in the words of scripture. Barbara’s faith was a beacon of light, which she shared generously with her family, friends, and even strangers, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew her.

A private burial was held at Munfordville, Kentucky Municipal Cemetery, where Barbara was laid to rest alongside her loved ones.

Barbara Anne Kessler will be remembered fondly for her unwavering love, kindness, and faith. May her legacy of love and devotion continue to inspire all who knew her.
