Club Olympia swimmers achieved 25 Age Group State cuts, 142 Divisional cuts, 19 first-place finishes and a 271 personal-best times out of 277 swims at last weekend’s FAST 500, hosted by the Fishers Area Swim Tigers at Fishers High School.
Four Club Olympia swimmers won two High Point trophies. Myra Jaryal won the 8-and-under Girls with 128 points, winning all eight of her events she and achieving 10U Girls Division cuts in every event she competed in.
Aahan Gupta won the high point trophy for 9-10 Boys, scoring 131 points in his nine events and achieving Age Group State cuts in each event, as well as meeting the 11-year-old time standards for DIV since he ages up before State.
Arash Thokade placed second in the 8U Boys high-point scoring, scoring 102 points from six second-place and two third-place finishes. Thokade also achieved 10U Divisional cuts in all of his swims.
Camila Mejia Murguia won the third-place high point trophy for the 11-12 Girls by scoring 103.5 points and getting AGS cuts in all nine of her swims.
Max Tempest just missed third place high-point in the 8U Boys, finishing with 87 points, with three second-place finishes, four third-place finishes and six 10U Divisional cuts. Chad Pendleton scored 80 points over just two days of competition in the 9-10 Boys events, achieving four Age Group State cuts, two first-place finishes, two second-places, as well as a third-and fifth-place finish.
Shreyan Kulkarni finished with 74 points in the 11-12 Boys events, with 10 top-10 finishes, two Age Group State cuts, and eight Divisional cuts. Joshua Pendleton, swimming in just five events, scored 74 points with four wins, a sixth-place finish, and five Age Group State cuts. He also achieved three new Sectional Bonus cuts for more swims at the first meet in Lucas Oil Stadium June 7-9, the Stadium Splash.
Vivan Shah scored 65 points in his nine 9-10 events, with all top-10 finishes, one Age Group State cut and eight Divisional cuts. Lexi Miller achieved two Age Group State cuts and seven Divisional cuts, scoring 52 points in the 11-12 Girls with five top-10 finishes. Arjun Agarkar scored 30 points, with nine out of nine top ten finishes in the 11-12 Boys age group. Agarkar also earned one Age Group State cut and eight Divisional cuts.
Rebeca Meija Murguia also achieved one Age Group State cut and eight Divisional cuts, scoring 29 points in the 11-12 Girls events, with four top-10 finishes. Xavier Zhang achieved nine Divisional cuts in his nine 11-12 Boys events, scoring 16 points. Sarthak Deshmukh, swimming on just one day, got four Divisional cuts and finished in the top four in his four 9-10 Boys events to score 14 points. Connelly Furnish, swimming on just one evening, scored 12 points by finishing in second and 10th places, with one Age Group State cut.
Also scoring points were Eva Rayomand with six points in her eight 9-10 Girls events, all in Divisional cuts; Kay Payne, swimming on just two days and achieving Divisional cuts in all five of her 11-12 Girls races; Cali Gray, swimming on only one day and achieving Divisional cuts in her four 9-10 Girls events; Daxton Wolf, getting seven Divisional cuts in his eight 11-12 Boys events; Shourya Malviya, getting five Divisional cuts in his eight 11-12 Boys races; and Bella Zhang, who achieved four Divisional cuts in her eight 9-10 Girls events.
Also competing and achieving Divisional cuts were Grey Bateman with three 11-12 Girls cuts, Gargi Gupta with one 11-12 Girls cut, Adir Joshi with seven 11-12 Boys cuts, Lily Pendleton with five 11-12 Girls cuts, Aashka Shah with three 11-12 Girls cuts and Chris Suo with four 11-12 Boys cuts.
Achieving personal-best times in all of their events were Amelia Arul, Landon Cottle, Joey Elkalla, Vihaan Gallege, Rayaan Malviya, Victoria Mocanu, Christopher Plunkett, Noah Plunkett, Ritsuki Singh, Sara Sonalkar and Derek Wang.
Donner competes at Franklin
Donner Swim Club finished eighth out of 13 teams in last weekend’s Franklin Early Summer Slam at Franklin High School.
Donner had more than 90% season-best and lifetime-best times.
Ella Bringman finished with 89 points and qualified for the 11-12 Divisionals in six events. Cooper Bringman had 87 points, and qualified for the 11-12 Divisionals in five events. Luiza Salomao qualified for the 11-12 Divisionals in four events.
Emily Meek scored 78 points and qualified for the 9-10 Divisionals in six events and is within a second or less of Age Group State cuts in three other events. Mridula Muthukumaran finished with 58 points and earned Divisional cuts in the five events.
Shabri Thangaraj finished with 37 points and qualified for the 11-12 Divisionals in two events and was close in several others. Aarav Sriram scored 26 points and qualified for the 11-12 Divisionals in five events. Anand Neela qualified for the Divisional meet in one event.
Leah Zhang qualified for her first Divisional time in one 9U event after the 7-year-old just beginning swimming competitively in September.
