COLUMBUS
Gregory “Greg” J. Fiesbeck, aged 66, a resident of Columbus, passed from this life unexpectedly at 11:56 p.m. Tuesday, May 7, 2024 at Ascension St. Vincent in Indianapolis.
Greg was born July 30, 1957, in Columbus, Indiana, the son of Robert and June D. Moore Fiesbeck.
Greg worked in health care for over 30 years as he enjoyed helping people. He loved to fish and enjoyed the outdoors. He was an avid IU basketball fan regardless of those “frustrating” seasons. Greg also found comfort with his dogs as companions. He, indeed, was a dog lover and would frequent both the Bartholomew and Brown County Humane Societies in search of one lucky dog to give a loving home. He will be remembered for his unique storytelling. Greg’s outgoing personality meant that he “never met a stranger”. He was particular about everything, too. Things had their place and tidiness was a must for him. He will be deeply missed by those that knew and loved him.
Survivors include, his daughter, Kylie (A.J.) Weddle of Columbus; his son, Colin (Jackie) Fiesbeck of Fishers; grandchildren, Tyden Fiesbeck, Berkley Fiesbeck, Colston Fiesbeck; sister, Kathleen “Kathy” Kitch of Williamsport, Indiana; nephews, Gabriel (Michelle) Kitch of New Albany, Ian (Kirkley) Kitch of Kingsland, Georgia; three great nieces and great nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and nephew, Cory Kitch.
In keeping with the family’s request, cremation will take place and the memorial service for Mr. Fiesbeck will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 11, 2024 at Barkes, Weaver &Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Pastor Tim Carter officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service Saturday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to either the Bartholomew County Humane Society or the Brown County Humane Society.
