Burnett, a sixth-year senior from Columbus East, is ranked No. 39 on the list. He is 2-2 with six saves and a 2.39 ERA and 42 strikeouts in 26 1/3 innings pitched. He has a team-best 1.18 WHIP (walks and hits per innings pitched) and a .180 opponent batting average.

Wagner (23-26) will host Columbia on Tuesday.

Greenwell powers Raiders past YSU

Julian Greenwell went 2 for 4 with a home run and three RBIs in Wright State’s 11-7 first-game win and had an RBI in a 10-7 second-game win in Saturday’s Horizon League doubleheader at Youngstown State.

Greenwell, a fifth-year senior from Columbus East, went 2 for 3 with a double in Wednesday’s 22-4 loss at Pittsburgh.

The Raiders (30-20, 19-8) will visit Kentucky on Tuesday.

McIntosh homers in Hornets victory

MONTGOMERY, Ala. — Kyler McIntosh went 1 for 2 with a home run and three RBIs Tuesday in Alabama State’s 12-2 win against South Alabama.

McIntosh, a junior from Columbus North, went 1 for 4 in Friday’s 6-5 SWAC win against Florida A&M. He went 3 for 5 with an RBI in Saturday’s 7-5 loss and 2 for 3 with two RBIs in Sunday’s 12-3 loss to Florida A&M.

The Hornets (26-24, 16-11) will visit UAB on Tuesday.

Meyer notches save against Sycamores

TERRE HAUTE — Jakob Meyer earned his fourth save of the season Sunday in Evansville’s 7-6 Missouri Valley Conference win at Indiana State.

Meyer, a senior from Columbus North, allowed three runs on three hits over the final three innings. He struck out four and did not walk a batter.

On Friday, Meyer pitched the final 2/3 of an inning and did not allow a hit or run in a 5-4 loss at Indiana State. He struck out one and did not walk a batter.

The Aces (36-11, 19-5) will visit Ball State on Tuesday.

Wager throws scoreless innings

MARTIN, Tenn. — Zach Wager pitched two scoreless innings Saturday in UT Martin’s 8-3 Ohio Valley Conference loss to Lindenwood.

Wager, a sophomore from Columbus North, allowed two hits. He struck out one and did not walk a batter.

The Skyhawks (20-31, 12-12) will visit Southeast Missouri Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Harmon helps Reivers to Region 11 title

COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa — Reese Harmon scored a run Sunday to help Iowa Western to the NJCAA Region 11 title with a 7-4 win against Indian Hills Community College.

Harmon, a junior from Columbus North, went 1 for 4 with an RBI in Saturday’s 10-0 win against Indian Hills.

The Reivers (50-7) will play in the Midwest District Tournament Wednesday through Saturday.

East grads help Jackson reach final

JACKSON, Mich. — Harry Major went 1 for 4 with an RBI, and Logan Christophel went 1 for 4 Friday to help Jackson College to a 3-2 win against McComb Community College in the Region XII Division Tournament.

In the first game on Friday, Major went 3 for 3 with an RBI and Christophel went 1 for 4. Both are sophomores from Columbus East.

Jackson (30-19) will host Grand Rapids Community College in the Region XII District final on Thursday.

North grads compete for Grizzlies

KOKOMO — Dyllan Redmon, a sophomore from Columbus North, scored two runs Friday, but Franklin saw its season come to an end with an 11-7 loss to Anderson in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament.

Luke Harmon, a freshman from North, pitched the first five innings of Thursday’s 5-0 loss to Franklin. He allowed five runs on nine hits, while striking out four and walking one.

Rutan ties record, makes All-Tourney team

OKFORD, Ala. — Maddi Rutan tied Eastern Kentucky’s program record for wins in a season with 25 and made the Atlantic Sun Conference All-Tournament team, but the Colonels saw their season come to an end with a 6-2 loss to North Florida in Saturday’s ASUN championship game.

Rutan, a freshman from Columbus North, allowed three earned runs on six hits in 4 1/3 innings for the Colonels (42-10), who had won the ASUN regular-season title.

EKU had opened the tournament with a 3-2 loss to Florida Gulf Coast on Thursday. Rutan allowed two runs on six hits in four innings.

The Colonels bounced back with a 9-0 win against Queens and a 9-3 victory over Central Arkansas on Friday. Rutan allowed one hit in three shutout innings and went 2 for 3 with an RBI against Queens. She gave up two runs on four hits in six innings and went 2 for 3 with an RBI against Central Arkansas.

Smith finishes fifth in Big 12 meet

WACO, Texas — Oklahoma’s Tucker Smith threw a personal-best 19.25 meters (63 feet, 2 inches) to finish fifth in the shot put Friday at the Big 12 Championships.

Smith, a sophomore from Columbus North, now ranks 20th in the nation for Division I shot putters this season. He has qualified to compete in the Division I West Regional May 22-25 at Arkansas.

Local natives run in ASUN Championships

CONWAY, Ark. — Lipscomb’s Mackenzie Barnett, a junior from Columbus North, finished fifth in the 1,500 meters in 4 minutes, 26.69 seconds Saturday at the ASUN Outdoor Championships.

Meanwhile, Chase Austin broke Bellarmine’s Freshman 1,500-meter record twice in three days at the ASUN meet. The freshman from Brown County ran 3:49.66 to finish ninth on Saturday. He had qualified 11th with a 3:50.23 on Thursday.

VanDeventer takes 24th in Crossroads

LACONIA — Luke VanDeventer finished 24th last week to help Huntington to a fourth-place finish at the Crossroads League Championships.
