The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation’s oldest and most selective collegiate honor society for all academic disciplines, inducted Carissa Fry, of Columbus, at Miami University in Ohio.

1999

Indianapolis Colts quarterback Peyton Manning visited Columbus to tour the new Foundation For Youth facility and launch the Peyton Manning Scholarship Fund. About 150 local children greeted him at the FFY, where he talked to them about keeping their priorities in line.

1974

Thom Huge and Pat Brunner of Columbus were two of the instrumentalists who produced country music for the “Country Folk Ain’t As Dumb As They Look” musical at the Black Curtain Dinner Theater in Indianapolis. Cast members Sharry Wilhite, Gertie Lou Perry, Dick Brock, Sarah Kay Kittle and Jacque Workman were also from Columbus.
