Two new filings have been made for Bartholomew Consolidated School Corp. school board ahead of the fall election.
Filing for the District 5 seat is Tom Glick, a veteran and current member of the Indiana Army National Guard who works for Glick Farms Inc. Nicole Wheeldon, Columbus MidRange Engine Plant Site Leader at Cummins Inc., and current school board president, has filed to seek reelection for the seat in District 7.

“It’s kind of my way of giving back to the community that brought me up,” said Glick, a 2005 Columbus East graduate. “We need to let teachers do their jobs,” he said.
Wheeldon, the incumbent from District 7, has lived in the area since 2003. “I really enjoyed learning about the school corporation,” she said.
“We have a lot of exciting work in front of us,” said Wheeldon, citing new facility projects that have begun to take shape. “We’re all feeling like we need to refocus on student outcomes.”
In addition to the BCSC seats in District 5 and 7, a District 3 seat is on the ballot.
Other filings for BCSC School Board have included Samantha Ison for District 7, Leigh W. Britt for District 5, and Whittney Loyd for District 3.
School board members Pat Bryant and Todd Grimes, who currently represent District 5 and District 3 respectively, are not seeking reelection.
The Flat Rock-Hawcreek School Board seats held by Matt Bruner and Brian Rose also are open for filing.
The filing period ends June 20, according to the Bartholomew County Clerk’s Office. People who are interested in running for a school board seat must file a petition of nomination with 10 signatures of registered voters.
For the BCSC school board, the signatures can come from any registered voter in the BCSC school district, while for Flat Rock-Haw Creek, the signatures must come from registered voters in the school board district in which the candidate is running, according to Bartholomew County Clerk Shari Lentz.
