Here’s what you need to know to have a rockin’ evening at the annual Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Labor Day weekend fundraising concert on Saturday.
When: Doors open at 4:30 p.m.
The musical lineup begins at 5:30 p.m. with blues singer-songwriter Jennie DeVoe; 7 p.m. will be the RockShow The Ultimate Tribute to Journey; and at 8:30 p.m. will be the headliner The Woomblies Rock Orchestra, playing classic rock and more.
Where: Circle K Fieldhouse at NexusPark, 2224 25th St. in Columbus.
Tickets: $10, available at https://ourhospice.org/concert.
Tickets also may be available the night of the concert. Crowd will be limited to 3,000 people. About 600 tickets were sold by Tuesday.
Why; The event supports the work of Our Hospice of South Central Indiana, specializing in bereavement and palliative care for patients and their families in a 22-county area of south-central Indiana.
Seating: Bring your own, or bring blankets.
What’s prohibited: Do not bring coolers, picnic baskets, outside food or drink or weapons.
Parking: Free at NexusPark and also at Columbus North High Sch0ol with a ColumBus shuttle available from the Home Avenue overflow parking lot between Subway and the tennis courts.
Concessions: Wide variety available inside the fieldhouse. Hot dogs, nachos with cheese, meal deals for $6, muffins, cookies, candy, flavored ice and more. Most prices are $2 or less.
Liquor: Beer and wine will be available in a beer garden for $5. IDs will be checked in order for people to enter that area. Beer garden will be open from 4:30 to 9 p.m. Saturday.
Bag search: At the entrance. Clear bags are recommended.
Raffle tickets for $10,000 prize: $10 raffle tickets can be purchased at the Our Hospice inpatient facility at 2626 17th St. in Columbus until noon Saturday. After that, tickets will be available at the concert when doors open at 4:30 p.m.
Souvenir T-shirts: Concert t-shirts are available for purchase for $20 at the concert or online at ourhospice.org/concert.
