Columbus Indiana Philharmonic visiting artist Rachel Barton Pines played rock and heavy metal music on her electric violin at The Commons for a nearly sold-out show. Pines also played Scottish fiddle tunes, Top 40 songs and classical music.

Former University of Kentucky basketball star and two-time NCAA champion Cameron Mills spoke to students at Edinburgh High School about life choices and responsibility. Mills’ visit was part of Community Outreach for Youth, a Seymour-based ministry that visited 12 area schools.

The Purdue Variety Band performed at a free concert in the auditorium of the Columbus Center at Bakalar Municipal Airport. The event was cosponsored by IUPUI and Bartholomew County Extension Service.
