NORTH VERNON
JoAnn Glasson, 93, of North Vernon, passed away on Thursday, September 12, 2024 at Columbus Regional Hospital.
Born September 6, 1931, in Bloomington, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late Noble Southern and Ruby (Hall) McQueen.
JoAnn was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She liked spending time with people, interacting in activities and going to the boat. She was a foster grandparent at North Vernon Elementary School for twenty years.
She is survived by her sons, Bruce (Crystal) Glasson of Fort Myers, Florida, Kevin Glasson of Bloomington, Indiana and Michael (Heather) Glasson of Nashville, Indiana; daughters Linda Beck of Fort Myers, Florida and Janice (Russ) Parks of Greensburg, Indiana; grandchildren, Robbie Glasson, Tracy Glasson, Michelle King, Melissa Collins, Todd Collins, Megan Allison, Cory Parks, Amanda Bowman, Michael C., Brian Glasson, Sam Glasson, Bruce Glasson, Jr., Ashley Glasson, Bret Glasson and numerous great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert Glasson Sr.; sons, Tim Glasson, Robert Glasson, Jr. and Gary Glasson; and siblings, Junior Southern, Jean Taylor, Lee Sullivan and Ray Sullivan.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral and Cremation Service in North Vernon, Indiana. Reverend Frank McGee will officiate. Family and friends may call from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, Tuesday, prior to the service. Burial will follow at Garland Brook Cemetery in Columbus, Indiana.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home in honor of JoAnn to the American Cancer Society and the American Heart Association.
