An anniversary celebration was held for Simmons School, a one-room schoolhouse in Hope, where students had a chance to watch a blacksmith, learn to folk dance and listen to a dulcimer player. The community also had a chance to explore the schoolhouse and enjoy free ice cream.

1999

Columbus’ Family Christian Store had to order 230 copies of the new VeggieTales movie, “Larry-Boy and the Rumor Weed,” after customers called in up to two weeks before its release to reserve a copy.

1974

Flat Rock-Hawcreek school board Superintendent Robert Rowe, along with other members of the board, visited all schools in the corporation, along with the Blue River Vocational School in Shelbyville.
