Mark Wayne King, 64, of Columbus passed from this life Saturday, September 14, 2024 at his home.
Mr. King was born September 4, 1960, in Martinsville, Indiana, the son of Melville Ross King and Marialice L. Sexton King.
Mark was an electronic technician at Cummins Inc, where he worked for over 30 years. When he was younger, he enjoyed riding motorcycles, hiking, and other outdoor activities. He was an avid reader and enjoyed staying current on the latest technology. He was a do-it-yourselfer and would often help friends and family members repair or install computer and electronic hardware. He enjoyed spending time with family members, especially his nieces and nephews. Mark was a little on the quiet side, but everyone who ever met him liked him immediately.
Survivors include his siblings, Dennis King of Bloomington and Pamela (Thomas) Baker of NC; two nieces, one nephew, three great-nieces and five great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Melville Ross King and mother, Marialice L. Meyers.
A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Barkes, Weaver &Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Pastor Terry Brosman officiating.
Family and friends may gather for a time of visitation from 1:00 p.m. to time of service at the funeral home.
In keeping with Mark’s wishes, cremation will take place.
