Students at IUPUC now can earn an Indiana University Bachelor of Arts in Communications Studies degree on the IUPUC campus, after approval from the Indiana Commission for Higher Education.
Prior to this approval, IUPUC students majoring in communication studies completed all courses required for the major in Columbus, but their degrees were conferred by IUPUI when they graduated.
Students who graduate with communication degrees often pursue careers in fields including journalism, public relations, marketing, public service, web developer, blogger or human resources.
Employers typically hire communication majors because they are able to clearly communicate complex information.
Many students who graduate with a bachelor’s degree in this field go on to pursue graduate study and careers in education, law, political science and other fields.
