Nominations sought for fundraising award

Nominations for the 2015 James A. Henderson Award for Fundraising are being sought. The purpose of the award is to honor a volunteer who has made a significant contribution to a Bartholomew County not-for-profit agency through exceptional fundraising efforts. Completed nominations are due to the office of The Heritage Fund — the Community Foundation of Bartholomew County by 4 p.m. April 17.

The award will be presented at the foundation’s annual meeting, set for May 14 at Mill Race Center, 900 Lindsey St. in Columbus. Nomination applications are available at heritagefundbc.org.

In 2004, Heritage Fund’s board created the award in recognition of Henderson’s leadership, vision and energy in building the assets of the Heritage Fund and in appreciation for his efforts enabling the foundation to respond more fully to the community’s changing needs.

Winners of the award have included people such as Jeff Blasdel for his efforts at the annual Kiwanis Duck Splash and the late John McCauley for his dedication to the Columbus Park Foundation and People Trail.
