Lucy “Kathy” Brown, 86, of Columbus, died at 6:45 p.m. Sunday, April 5, 2015, at Columbus Regional Hospital Emergency Department.

Mrs. Brown was a prep cook at the Moose Lodge and had been a waitress at the American Legion post.

She enjoyed membership in the American Legion, VFW Auxiliary, Columbus Moose Lodge and the Eagles Lodge. She enjoyed watching TV and John Wayne movies, walking, crocheting and flower gardening.

The funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Virgil Clotfelter officiating.

Family and friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday and from 9 a.m. until service time Friday.

Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.

Born in Edmonton, Kentucky, July 22, 1928, Mrs. Brown was the daughter of William and Verda England Jessie. She was married to Glenford Brown who preceded her in death August 9, 1967.

Survivors include children, Pamela K. (Harry Jr.) Henderson and Glenna F. (Darrel) Hatcher, both of Columbus, and Ronnie L. Brown of Cody, Wyoming; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; children, Margaret Ann Lephart, David Allen Brown and Janet Sue Moore; a granddaughter, Hope Renee Henderson; sisters, Era Mae Fields and Anna Pearl Powers; and brothers, Sherman Jessie, Buford, and Albert Jessie.
