Letter: Council insensitive to city’s needs

From: Jess Quigley

Columbus

I am a Democrat and will not ask for a Republican ballot. My feelings are simple. Let each party select who they feel is their best candidate. Each party should strive to do its best for the voters in the general election. In theory, that’s the way America works.

However, I’m impressed by Mayor Kristen Brown and find the city council unbelievable. Any group that would give itself a raise, make an issue of forcing a raise on one who objects to it and in the same session deny an extra policeman has to be the height of insensitivity and irresponsibility to the Columbus voters.

If the Republicans chose any other candidate one can only hope the Democrats can place a decent candidate in contention.
