Museum showcasing art projects

Columbus’ kidscommons children’s museum will host 30 multi-disciplinary art projects Sunday that were created by school children throughout the state.

Five of them were created by Columbus students.

The event is designed to encourage the pursuit of visual arts as a career, help integrate the disciplines of the performing and the visual arts in schools, increase community support for the arts in schools, and heighten student awareness of the International Violin Competition of Indianapolis and its cultural importance to the entire state.

Works will be displayed from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday. Admission to the museum, located at 309 Washington St., is free that day.
