East, North coaches to host football camp
Columbus East coach Bob Gaddis and Columbus North coach Tim Bless and their staffs, along with the Central and Northside middle school coaches, will host the Columbus Middle School Football Camp from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday at North and Thursday and Friday at East for current sixth- and seventh-graders.
Walk-up registration will be from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at North. Cost is $50 and includes a camp T-shirt.
Players should wear cleats (or tennis shoes if cleats are not available), shorts or sweats and a T-shirt. Campers will participate in football drills stressing the safest and most fundamentally sound techniques. The camp is not full contact.
Girls can practice with Columbus Lacrosse Club
The Columbus Lacrosse Club is offering high school girls the opportunity to learn the game of lacrosse.
Practices are from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays at Donner Park in the grassy area between the pool and Chestnut Street for girls in Grades 9 to 12. Equipment will be provided.

East to conduct callout meeting for girls golf
There will be a meeting for any girls interested in playing golf at Columbus East High School this fall at 6 p.m. Thursday in Room 104 of the school.
Foundation For Youth sets dates for leagues
Registration continues for Foundation For Youth’s NFL flag football league, which begins June 2 for children in kindergarten through Grade 8.
Practices and games will be at 5:30, 6:30 and 7:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays through July at the PAAL complex. Cost is $75 and includes a reversible NFL jersey and flags.

Broomball sign-ups underway for leagues
Sign-ups are underway for summer broomball leagues at Hamilton Center Ice Arena.
Summer Session No. 1 will be from 6:30 to 8:45 p.m. Tuesdays from June 2 to 30. Players sign up individually and will be drafted to a team.
Summer Session No. 2 will be July 14 to Aug. 11. Players will be redrafted after Summer Session No. 1.

Three basketball camps coming to Hanover
Hanover College will host its 49th annual Boys Basketball Camp from June 7 to 10 and July 5 to 8 and a Post/Perimeter Skills Camp from June 24 to 26. Browns-town Central coach Dave Benter will direct the post players, and Greensburg coach Stacy Meyer will direct the perimeter players.
Columbus North offers Frog Swim Lessons
Frog Swim Lessons will begin June 8 and will run Mondays through Fridays for four weeks at Columbus North High School.
Cost is $65 per week. The lessons last 30 minutes and have a 1:1 ratio.

North girls basketball to conduct youth camp
Columbus North girls basketball coach Pat McKee, his assistants, players from the Class 4A state champion Bull Dogs team and guest coaches will host the 2015 Columbus North Girls Basketball Youth Camp from June 8 to 11 in Memorial Gym.
Sessions will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. for girls entering Grades 7 and 8, 1:15 to 3:15 p.m. for girls entering Grades 5 and 6 and 3:30 to 5 p.m. for girls entering Grades 2 to 4.
Players from all sessions are invited to attend a session involving a guest from the Indiana Fever at 3 p.m. June 11.
Cost by Thursday is $60 for girls entering Grades 5 to 8 and $55 for girls entering Grades 2 to 4, with checks payable to “CNHS Girls Basketball.”
Registration will be accepted after Thursday with a $5 late fee, but a camp T-shirt will not be guaranteed.
The first 90 girls who register for the camp will receive a certificate that is redeemable for admission at a select Indiana Fever game this season.
Otter Creek will host Face to Face Classic
The 17th annual Face to Face Golf Classic will be June 9 at Otter Creek. There will be a putting tournament at 10:30 a.m., lunch at 11:30 a.m., the Florida Scramble at 12:30 p.m. and a pork chop dinner at 5:30 p.m.
Cost for the golf outing is $125 per person, and door prizes will be awarded.
Hole sponsorships are available for $225, while dinner sponsors are $50 and dinner only is $15.

Witkemper Memorial coming to Timbergate
The Jeremy Witkemper Memorial Foundation Golf Outing will be June 12 at Timbergate Golf Course. Lunch begins at 11 a.m.
Cost is $80 per person and includes lunch, snacks, a gift bag and a chance to win other prizes.
Corporate and individual golfer packages and tee box sponsorships also are available, and proceeds will help individuals with substance abuse treatment and support youth programs that educate and inform kids to make safer choices.

Golf course planning Hollenbeck Memorial
The fifth annual Steve Hollenbeck Memorial Golf Tournament will be at 8 a.m. June 13 at Timbergate.
Cost is $80 per player or $320 per team and includes a catered meal from Hickory Hills BBQ and closest-to-the-pin and long-drive contests.
The top three teams will win cash prizes. Proceeds will benefit Edinburgh Dollars for Scholars.

East, North staffs to host Revolution hoops camp
The Columbus East and Columbus North boys basketball coaching staffs will host the Columbus Revolution Basketball Camp on June 15 and 18 at North and June 16 and 17 at East for boys entering Grades K to 9.
Grades K to 2 will be from 9 to 10 a.m., Grades 3 and 4 will be from 10 to 11 a.m., Grades 5 to 7 will be from 11 a.m. to noon, and Grades 8 and 9 will be from noon to 1 p.m.
Registration will take place on the first day of the camp.
Cost is $60, with checks payable to “Columbus Revolution Basketball.”
Critzer Memorial tourney coming to Otter Creek
The 30th annual Andy Critzer Memorial Golf Tournament will be at noon June 19 at Otter Creek.
Platinum sponsorships are $750 and include four players, lunch and dinner, corporate tee sign and corporate recognition at the dinner. Gold sponsorships are $525 and include four players, lunch and dinner and a corporate tee sign. Silver sponsorships are $100 and include a corporate tee sign. Individual players are $100, which includes lunch and dinner. There also will be a car giveaway for a hole-in-one, various tournament awards, a golf package raffle and door prizes.
Proceeds benefit the Andy Critzer scholarship endowment, which is managed by Bartholomew County’s Heritage Fund. Columbus North’s Sydney Anderson and Columbus East’s Adam Krebs are the $15,000 scholarship winners and will be honored at the tournament dinner.

Former Columbus East girls basketball coach Mel Good will host the Two Good Basketball Camp from 8 a.m. to noon June 22 to 25 at Ceraland. Cost is $145, or $105 with a Ceraland annual pass.

Book about North girls state hoops title on sale
“We Will Rise: The Captivating Journey of the 2014-15 Columbus North Bull Dogs,” a 32-page book about the girls basketball team’s state championship season, is in the North athletics office.
The book features more than 100 color photos from throughout the season, a season overview article, recaps of all 29 games, a photo-roster page, a list of varsity game results, final season statistics and an article about some of the team members’ postseason honors.
