IU student receives medical scholarship from foundation

Bryce McKee has received the 2015 Ron Roberts Memorial Medical Scholarship, the Columbus Regional Health Foundation has announced.

The grant, given each year to honor Roberts, is designed to provide scholarship money to medical students who demonstrate academic potential and financial need.

McKee, 33, is a medical student in Bloomington who will graduate from Indiana University School of Medicine in May 2016. He attended Indiana University for an undergraduate degree in biology and IUPUI for a master’s degree in cellular physiology. He is interested in pursuing a career in primary care medicine, specifically pediatrics, and serving the underprivileged.

He spent a few years helping those affected by Hurricane Katrina and also working as an AmeriCorps service member with Habitat for Humanity in Bloomington. McKee is married and has a daughter.

Local woman named to dean’s list at Colorado State

Meredith Harrison, of Columbus, has been named to the Dean’s list at Colorado State University, where she is majoring in animal science.
