John C. Unsworth

Hanover

Mr. John Carl Unsworth, age 43, of Hanover, Indiana, formerly of Columbus and Greensburg, entered this life on February 26, 1972, in New Albany, Indiana. He was the loving son of Carl David and Katherine Tracy Unsworth. He was raised in Greensburg and attended school there.

John was baptized and raised in the Baptist faith. He and his companion of several years, Candy, were blessed with a daughter, Tearstin. A later marriage to Danielle Arnold was blessed with a son, John Paul,  and a daughter, Eliza Jean. He had worked for Midwest Tube Mills and currently worked with Pettit Contracting as a laborer and heavy equipment operator.

John loved to tinker with anything mechanical and could operate any type of machinery. He was known as a hard worker and enjoyed hunting and being with his family. John was expecting his first granddaughter, Gemma Ann, due in October.

John died on Saturday, August 15, 2015, at 5:58 a.m. at King’s Daughters’ Hospital Emergency Room in Madison, Indiana.

He will be missed by his loving mother and stepfather, Kathy Tracy and Keith “Pappy” Loomis; his loving daughters, Tearstin Hastings and her husband, Codey of Columbus, Indiana, and Eliza Jean Unsworth of Hanover, Indiana; his loving son, John Paul Unsworth of Hanover, Indiana; his loving sister, Jennifer Unsworth and her fiancé, Jeff Vieux; his nieces, Kalla Rose Anderson, Samantha Nabours and Megan Vieux; his grandpa, Robert Lee Cross of Madison, Indiana; several aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his father, Carl David Unsworth, who died in 1986, and his grandma, Wilma Jean Pate Cross, who died January 28, 2015.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. today, Tuesday, August 18, 2015, by Bro. Bob Hicks at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana. Interment will follow in the Carmel Cemetery on Greenbriar Road near Hanover, Indiana.
