Brian’s picks (Aug. 27 inside Go Guide)

Whether you call it gross or embarrassing, my household has long been a lip-smacking one — with cats, dogs and ferrets through the years. So I’m all for Flintwood Wesleyan Church’s youth fundraiser, “Kiss the Critter,” from 10 a.m. to after 3 p.m. Saturday at the church, 5300 E. 25th St. in Columbus. A barbecue food spread and games open to the public — plus the finale of one local couple smooching an alpaca or other such beast. Information: flintwood.org.

If the Columbus Got Talent show slated at 5 p.m. Saturday at Judson Erne Auditorium, 1400 25th St., offers the same level of quality as previous, similar shows, then the audience could enjoy a good show — and maybe even one with an ethnic twist. That’s because the Columbus Area Multi-Ethnic Organization has organized the gathering. Tickets are $5 in advance and $7 at the door for youth: and $10 in advance and $13 at the door for adults. Anyone younger than 10 is admitted free. Information: columbuscameo.org.
