Brian’s picks

1) Former longtime Eagles’ member Don Felder, the musician who birthed the unmistakable guitar riffs and the rest of the music for one of the band’s biggest hits, “Hotel California,” has earned a number of glowing online reviews from concerts this year — and from audience members who openly state they weren’t sure what to expect seeing him without his more celebrated bandmates. Felder headlines the free, annual Our Hospice of South Central Indiana concert at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at the Mill Race Park amphitheater. Information: 812-314-8000 or ourhospice.org.

2) Look — I’ll go with more than a few friends’ recommendations to suggest that people catch the comic classic, “The Princess Bride” at sundown Sept. 11 at the classic film series slated for the lawn of The Inn at Irwin Gardens, 608 Fifth St. in Columbus. Admission is $12 for adults and $5 for those younger than 12. The rain date is Sept. 17. Information: 812-378-0377.
