• Eagles 741 for honoring two great guys, Larry Kelley and Bud Seymour, for all their hard work, from all your friends.

• Joyce and Dennis for being the best neighbors ever.

• the sheriff deputy reserves who took care of a person who was being very disrespectful at the concert Saturday night.

• the person in Hope who found our lost keys Sunday morning and turned them in at the police department.

• Jan Harris, a wonderful friend, for all of her encouraging and kind words.

• David Fields for helping us pick up the door.

• Ryan Edgecomb for always helping us with car and pool things.

• local law enforcement for the great job at the Hospice concert and allowing responsible adults to have fun.

• Daniel and Diane at Salt Creek Inn for your hospitality, kindness and support, from Rachael.

• Dale Sechrest for sharing his musical talent, from The Cross of Hope.

• Doug Showalter for all of your articles, but especially the great one on Sept. 5.

• Rhonda Elam for your hard work picking the delicious tomatoes for us, from Kim and Paul.

• gas stations north of town for having gas 50 cents cheaper than the west side of town.

Onions to …

• the large factory that tells people they have a job, but after orientation says there are no positions.

• Columbus for not having sidewalks on 10th Street, forcing people in wheelchairs to travel in the middle of the road.

• the car dealership with poor customer service.

• the lady who threw a dead calf into Clifty Creek without consideration for children and adults in the water downstream.

• the government for trying to take our Social Security.

• the big box store that ran out of meat on a holiday.

• squirrels for leaving empty corn cobs all over the streets.

• the officer who was directing traffic before the concert Saturday afternoon for being rude and unprofessional.

• The newspaper’s sports section for not mentioning a JV football player for his two interceptions but mentioning the varsity player who had two interceptions.

• people who want to take credit for everything, when they don’t spend as much time dealing with something as somebody else does.

• any business that disrespects its cleaning people when they make sure the offices are clean for them.

• the big clothes store in the mall that lists your whole name on your receipt after you swipe your card.

• The newspaper for editing my Onion and changing its meaning.

• the soon-to-be forest of tall signs as they will certainly cheapen the image of our town.

• the people near State Road 46 West and Wolf Creek Road taking cats from the neighborhood as many are neutered/spayed feral cats, but some are family pets.

• people who think they can be rude to a person just because they have a better job than another person does.

• neighbors who are constantly calling officials about other neighbors.

• failing to properly secure the area for the disabled with a fence at the Hospice concert while the VIP area was fully fenced in.

• The newspaper for not saying anything about the invitation-only Don Felder meet and greet until after the event already happened, causing me to miss out on getting an autograph.

• those not realizing if you have photographs for sale that makes you a professional and you probably shouldn’t enter contests for amateurs.

• person who yelled at me for asking whether a child was allergic to a certain spice.

• people who knowingly get in other people’s way in the stores by zig-zagging, just to upset them.

• the person who sent an Onion about bicyclists yelling “on your left!” because it’s a courtesy on a shared path.

• the co-worker for bashing the manager about attending a meeting.

• those who are more concerned with this so-called art instead of caring how many taxpayer dollars go into it.

• the elected officials who ran on the conservative party’s ticket, yet they were voted in by liberals and vote like liberals.

• grown adults who still go by their childhood nicknames.

• the non-profit organization that thinks certain employees should donate all of their time instead of getting paid for it while others do not donate or volunteer for anything.

• people who do not do anything to repair or clean their homes and then use this as an excuse to mooch off of others.
