Semitrailer recovered; but parts missing

A stolen semitrailer taken from Taylorsville has been recovered in a Shelby County farm field, but thousands of dollars worth of automotive parts that had been in the trailer are missing.

Bartholomew County sheriff’s deputies said the cab and trailer were taken from Willoughby Drive in Taylorsville late Monday or early Tuesday.

The white, 2005 Volvo cab and a white semitrailer with Hoosier Air Transport was carrying about $100,000 worth of auto parts, including engines, transmissions and batteries, deputies said.

The property owner found the semi in a farm field on Tuesday, deputies said.

Anyone having information about the semi and its contents is asked to call Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Detective Jason Williams at 812-565-5928 or email [email protected]
