At 30 years old, the Heartnut Festival, Sept. 12 and 13 at Johnson County Park, Camp Atterbury, has a lot to celebrate. This long-running festival features craft and food vendors, live music, early American pioneer and Indian encampment, Indiana Live Steamers train rides and more. Admission is free, which makes the day even more appealing.
It’s no big secret: I like mysteries; I find true crime intriguing. Murder for a Cause, a mystery dinner theater fundraiser for San Souci, is one time that murder (OK, fake murder) is used for a good end. Set for 6 to 10 p.m. Saturday, Clarion Hotel and Conference Center, 280 Jonathan Moore Pike, the evening also includes dinner and a silent auction.
