Woman in fair condition after falling at Anderson Falls

A Westport woman who was injured after falling at Anderson Falls has been transferred to IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.

Brenda Higgins, 66, was listed in fair condition Wednesday afternoon at Methodist, hospital officials said.

The Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Department was sent to Anderson Falls about 4 p.m. Saturday to assist a small child and a woman after falling, deputies said.

Higgins, who complained of pain to her head, right ankle and ribs after her fall, was lifted about 20 feet in a basket to be rescued, deputies said.

The toddler, who was carried out by his mother, also had multiple injuries and was transported to Columbus Regional Hospital, deputies said. Efforts to obtain the toddler’s medical condition were not successful.
