Betty Naomi Stitsworth, 92, of Columbus, died at 11:23 p.m. Saturday, September 12, 2015, at Kindred Care of Columbus.

Born in Columbus on March 10, 1923, Betty was the daughter of Henry and Gonverd Bergstrom Carl. Betty had worked for Indiana Bell for many years as a secretary. She was a member of Garden City Church of Christ and a lifetime member of the Pioneers of America. Betty enjoyed crafts, sewing, helping others and was a wonderful cook.

The funeral service for Betty will be Wednesday September 16, 2015, at 6 p.m. in Myers-Reed Chapel on 25th Street with Virgil Clotfelter officiating. Calling will be from 4 – 6 p.m. at the funeral home. In keeping with Betty’s wishes, cremation is planned with inurnment in Garland Brook Cemetery.

Betty is survived by her children, Diane (Roger) Hardin, Columbus, Sharon (Ken) Spicer, Plant City, Florida, Stu (Cindy) Stitsworth, Columbus, Steve (Adele) Stitsworth, Downing Town, Pennsylvania and Henry (Jane) Stitsworth, Andover, Minnesota; 15 grandchildren; and several great, great-great and great-great-great-grandchildren; and her companion, J. J. Lehman of Columbus.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Dale in 1995, whom she married September 11, 1957, in Jonesville; sister, Pauline Robbins; brothers, Howard, Warren and John Carl; son Bill Stitsworth; and a grandson, Bobby Grider.
