Clara Morris, 77, of Crothersville, Indiana, passed away Tuesday, September 22, 2015, at her home, with her son and daughter by her side.
Born February 20, 1938, in Boston, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Paris McVey and Mae (Harris) McVey.
Clara lived over 50 years in the same home where she raised her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed gardening, collecting rocks from wherever her family traveled, bird watching, and family get-togethers, and loved leaving notes for her family.
Clara was an employee of Arvin Industries for 47 years.
Survivors include a son, Delmer Dwayne Morris, Indianapolis, Indiana; a daughter, Cindy Angel Morris, Bloomfield, Indiana; brothers, Tommy McVey of Austin, Indiana, Glen (Norma Jean) McVey of Paris Crossing, Indiana, and Johnny McVey of Hanover, Indiana; and sisters, Lois Krakora and Pearl Anderson, both of Austin, Indiana.
She is also survived by five grandchildren, Misti (Owens) Hanson of Bloomfield, Christopher Isenhower of Bloomfield, Erin Mankiller of Seymour, and Richard and Curtis Morris of Indianapolis; and five great-grandchildren, Tyler and Cody Hanson of Bloomfield, Hailey and Destiny Robinson of Seymour, and Angela Isenhower of Bloomfield.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Cheri Ann Mankiller; a brother, Dan McVey; and sisters, Ima McVey, Linda Ruth McVey, Hazel Curl, and Peggy Overstreet.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. until service time at 11 a.m. Saturday at Buchanan Funeral Home in Austin. The Rev. Mark Hafenbreidel will officiate. Burial will be at Harrod Cemetery in Austin.
