Roy E. Barringer, 89, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, died Thursday, Sept. 17, 2015, at Casa De Rosa Assisted Living Center.
Born in Bartholomew County Jan. 27, 1926, Roy was the son of Isaac and Rena Mae Glasgow Barringer. He married Wenonah Weber August 19, 1950.
Roy graduated from Columbus High School in 1944 and Cincinnati Bible Seminary in 1952. He was a minister of the Christian Church and served churches in Ohio, New Mexico, and Texas. He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Wenonah; sons, Randy (Beth) Barringer of Albuquerque, Jeff (Debbie) Barringer of Carl Junction, Missouri, and Greg Barringer of Fort Belvoir, Virginia; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Janet Foster of Columbus.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Gerald “Jerry” Barringer, and his parents.
Services were held Monday, Sept. 21, 2015, at First Christian Church in Albuquerque. Burial was at the National Cemetery in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
