Restaurants offering free meals to veterans

Two local restaurants are providing free meals to veterans on Wednesday for Veterans Day.

Fazoli’s restaurants, including a location at 3041 N. National Road in Columbus, will offer a free pasta bowl to veterans and active duty personnel. Veterans and active duty personnel must show their military identification or wear their uniform to participate.

Also, as part of the Veterans Day celebration, children may create thank-you cards for U.S. troops on Tuesday as part of a Fazoli’s Kids Night activity. The restaurant chain will then send the cards and messages to the troops as a token of gratitude.

Johnny Carino’s will offer a free meal to veterans from a Veterans Day menu on Wednesday, open to active, inactive and retired military personnel. Valid military ID is required. About 20 entrees are on the special menu for the day.
